Christmas is seen to many as a time for family togetherness, or it used to be, where your family members gather together to enjoy some quality time together. One way families of the 21st century can come together is watching movies. Particularly, watching holiday movies e.g. The Home alone trilogy, Miracle on 34th Street, The Santa Clause etc. All these movies conquered the blockbuster saga, and why should they not?
Home Alone was a classical hit in the 90s. It reigned on the box office for 12 straight weeks. This film was a success because of its abilities to bring families together. Of course the idea of an 8 year old kid beating two burglars just like Santa beats his elves makes this film a good old fashioned Christmas beat down. I am aware that almost everyone knows this movie by heart. So I would recommend that as Christmas is nearing that you re-watch it, as will surely give you family lovers a laugh and its well worth looking forward to. 10/10.
Coming Soooooooon: Why only watch a classic. Christmas is also in the time period where there are new movie releases. This way you don't have to sit at home to watch a quality movie with your friends or family. You could instead watch something in the latest category.
Releasing on the 25th of December 2009, that's right on Christmas day, Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel will arrive in UK cinemas. The prequel for this movie made great impact last year in bringing friends and families together. The story is basically the chipmunks must put aside music superstardom to return to school, and are tasked with saving the school's music program by winning the $25,000 prize in a battle of the bands. But the Chipmunks unexpectedly meet their match in three singing chipmunks known as “The Chipettes” – Brittany, Eleanor and Jeanette. Romantic and musical sparks are ignited when the Chipmunks and Chipettes square off. I would recommend that if you are considering going to the cinema during the Christmas holiday, then this movie may be in your interest to watch.
